Cooking Malay Taste Laksa Curry Kit- Review

Malay Taste - Laksa Curry Kit picture

Malay Taste Laksa Curry Kit Review of the packet kit from Morrisons.

Morrisons Link https://groceries.morrisons.com/products/malay-taste-laksa-kit-608102011

Laksa Curry Kit -  What do you get.

The Malay Taste Laksa Curry Kit comes with some noodles, a Laksa sauce and Coconut Milk.

What you need to add.   I used Chicken in my dish but I think prawns would be nice too.   I also added some chilli and I think it needs some more colour so some green or red bells peppers.

Malay Taste Laksa Curry kit you can make quickly within 15 mins.  Cooking your chicken in smaller pieces and prawns would be even quicker.   You can put your noodles in a bowl of boiled water and let them rest for no more than 5 minutes before draining.

What's the Malay Taste Laksa Curry Kit like ?

Answer - It's probably an 8/10.  You do need to add a few things which is fine enough.  The flavour and smell is fabulous and adding a chilli just gives it that extra kit.   The Laksa Curry kit is easy enough to make and the price is reasonable especially when on special.

Cheesy Whiz Strips Three Brothers Woodlands

Cheesy Whiz Strips at Three Brothers Woodlands Glasgow

Visoted here after a night out at The Dram Pub.  I'd seen Three Brothers Woodlands pop up on just eat.  Walking by Three Brothers they have a window where you can see the chefs cook the smash burgers.

The kitchen at Three Brothers seems busy and after having some food there you can see why as it's very good, sumptuous.

After a few beers I was not really after anything heavy and thought about a burger, the rice dishes and thought try something different than spicey buffalo wings.  Cheesy Whiz just seemed a wee bit experimental.

Ordered with the friendly enough guy at the counter, asked did I want a drink etc but said no.

Sat at the counter and not long after order was ready at The Three Brothers.  The Cheesy Whiz came in a wee cardboard bowl.  I kid you not you could smell the cheese and the chicken.   I can buy a chicken breast out Tesco's and cook it and you don't have a chicken smell, many will say well you bought from Tesco.

The Cheesy sauce there was plenty off and 5 pieces of Chicken Strips.   At £6.50 it's just right price I suppose.  One bite and you could really taste and smell that chicken, it was white, juicy and not chewy.   Almost like cod it just broke apart.  The batter was nice enough but the cheese sauce was just yummy and not sickly and did have a wee bit of a kick to it.

Each mouthful of the Cheesy Whiz at The Three Brothers was great and I seriously could have ordered 2 portions.  So finished of my 5 chicken strips, scooped up all the the Cheesy sauce and thought as working at the Uni I do have to pop down here another time.

The staff were nice enough and the inside is nice and clean and open and you can see what's happening.  A couple of seats and benches to eat at.

Will definitely go back to Three Brothers in Woodlands Glasgow to see what other things they cook.   Some might seem wee bit pricey but it's definitely looks as though worth it.  There is a 15% voucher so that's something to consider.

Hope you enjoyed this Three Brothers Review.

Tesco Discover In Buffalo Wings – Very Tasty

Tesco Discover In Buffalo Wings

Tesco Discover In Buffalo Wings

I have to say I found these wings and the Smokey Bourbon Wings to be great value and very tasty and a decent amount of wings in the bag.

Link to the Smoky Bourbon Wings

I would say you get around 9 wings.   They also have a separate pouch with the sauce which is a simple but great idea.

I let them thaw a little before cooking but they are easy to cook and I put them on for 15 mins at 180.   Take them out add the saw which in the instruction says leave in some hot water while cooking the wings.

When the 15 mins is up for the Discover In Buffalo Wings take them out, put them in a bowl and add the sauce.  Mix and put back in the air fryer for around 5-7 mins.  Allow to cool and then seriously enjoy.

The Buffalo Wings do have a bit of a kick to them not overly hot in the scale of things but definitely a little kick.

The Discover In Buffalo Wings and the Discover In Smoke Bourbon Wings are a buy for chicken wings.  The sauce pouch gives a good amount of sauce and you don't have to use the whole sachet.

Should you buy the Discover In Buffalo Wings.  Yes is the answer.  I'd give them a 9/10.

Street Kitchen Japanese Teriyaki Chicken Tesco Pouches

Tesco Street Kitchen Japanese Teriyaki Chicken

Grill House Salt and Pepper Ribs Review

Street Kitchen Japanese Teriyaki Chicken Pouches at  Tesco.

With sauce's now very expensive then it's good to look out for a bargain sauce to buy.  Before cost of living crisis your Patak, Sharwoods and even you Supermarket own brand sauces were fairly cheap.   Now some jars are upwards of £2.50, seriously unjustifiable.

You can of course make your own sauces and there are lots of websites out there which will tell you what spices etc you will need.  If you are in a rush though or too lazy then pre made sauces are the answer.

I seen in Tesco the Street Kitchen Japanese Teriyaki Chicken pouches as well as a few other Street Kitchen pouches and thought at £2.00 with the Tesco Clubcard was worth buying.

The pouch contains a garlic paste, some Teriyaki Sauce and some sesame seeds, nothing overly complicated.  So but some extras like chicken and noodles and maybe an onion and you have something nice.

I tend to use 2 of these little bales per person of Noodles.  Either Blue Dragon Noodles     or Tescos own Medium Noodles

Cut up some Chicken either breast or fillets.  Add to a hot pan and cook through.   Add the Garlic sachet and let cook for a few minutes.  Add some onion or spring onion.  Then add the Teriyaki sachet and stir for a final cook.  I'd have the heat fairly high but not to burn.

I use a multicooker to cook.  Link below.

Put your noodles in a bowl.  I cook my noodles in a bowl in microwave in some hot water for 5 mins.  Watch very hot taking out.

So once Noodles drained add to bowl then service the Street Kitchen Japanese Teriyaki Chicken to the noodles.

The meal came out very well and could get 2 good portions from this meal.

Grill House Salt and Pepper Ribs Review

Grill House Salt and Pepper Ribs Review

Grill House Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs.
These ribs are available from Iceland

So upon opening them, you get about 7 short ribs and they smell nice and look reasonable thick.

Putting them in the Air Fryer for about 15 mins at 190 they come out lovely and brown and very hot.  So let them cool down a bit.

Grill House Salt and Pepper Ribs from Iceland what are they like.   Ok on a Saltyness level id say they are about a 7 or 8, where 10 would be eating a spoonfull of salt.

The ribs are largely fatty with small bits of meat here and there.   Scare  would say the meat content is.   Flavour yes great but meat no, very little.

I used the bones and the fatty ribs to put in a stock pot for a stew.

So final say on the Iceland Grill House Salt and Pepper Ribs, no, they are not up to much and you can buy better elsewhere or make your own.

Cooking a Bridie in an Air Fryer

Cooling a Bridie in an Air Fryer

Cooking a Bridie in an Air Fryer

Can you cook a Bridie in an Air Fryer - Yes you can cook a Bridie in an Air Fryer.
Bridie are a wee parcel of mince meat covered in some rolled over pastry.   Similar to a Cornish Pastry almost.
In Scotland they might not be as popular as they used to be.   You would get them in Greggs or your local bakers.
Generally they were wee bit bigger and some onion in them.
Bridie in an Air Fyer - so yes you just put the in the air fryer for around 10 mins at 180 and will come out hot and cooked.  I have put some low calorie oil on mine.
The Bridies used in this video were from Bells which I purchased from Iceland Supermarket
So yes its's worth trying a wee Bridie in an Air Fryer.

Review Tesco Finest Mango Coconut and Lime Loaded Chicken Wings

Tesco Finest Coconut Mango and Lime Loaded Chicken Wings 1
Tesco Finest Mango Coconut and Lime Loaded Wings 1

Tesco Finest Coconut Mango and Lime Chicken Wings Review.

So seen these Chicken Wings in the reduced section of Tesco's for around £2.80, can't quite remember.  Was dithering with them as thought how many would you get in the pack.   So went for it and purchased them.

Got the Coconut Mango and Lime Loaded Wings home and opened them up.  So when opening there is a nice fruity tropical smell and you can tell they are coated with a good thick marinade.   There is also an additional sachet of sauce.  I'll admit now I did not use that.

I got 13 chicken wings in the pack and I was ok with that for myself.  Obviously for 2 sharing as a starter that's reasonable.

So I decided to put 8 chicken wings in the Air Fryer and it was already heated so the wings sizzled when I dropped them in the basket.   I set the Airfryer temperature at 200 for 15 mins.  Generally that's what  I go for to give a thorough cooking and a nice colour on the outside.

When the Tesco Finest Mango Coconut and Lime Loaded Wings come out let them cool.   As I admitted earlier I did not add the sachet of sauce so bare that in mind in the review.   So how did they taste well in the standard coating that smell had disappeared.   The wings were your typical wings as in they were smallish and good enough meat on them.  The flavour was nothing distinctive, would they have been different with the sauce, yes quite likely.   Would it have made me pay £5.00 or £4.50 with Tesco Clubcard discount, I'd say no.     If they were on special again I'd chance seeing if they tasted different with the sachet.

You can get great wings from Tesco in the frozen section.  Iceland do great wings also and a good amount for £3.75 or so.    Overall I'd say the Tesco Finest Mango Coconut and Lime Loaded Wings are average on what I ate.

Iceland Hot and Spicy Chicken Wings - Worth Trying

Lidl Chicken Kebab Peri Peri Flavour

Lidl Chicken Kebab

Lidl Chicken Kebab Peri Peri Flavour under the Braemoor brand.

The Braemoor Chicken Kebab in Lidl has been around for sometime and there has been many a review for it.   So here is my review.

Check Out Lidl Website

Priced just under £6.00 at Lidl you get a good few chunks of chicken and smell of Peri Peri  comes out when you break the plastic film lid.

The Lidl Chicken kebab I would say is a mix of chicken pieces, so breast, thigh and leg.  It cannot just be chunks of breast meat.   As you are eating it, there is the occasional bit of chicken that you know is not chicken breast.

I cooked as per the Youtube Video the Lidl Braemoor Chicken Kebab in an Airfryer.   I had it defrosted in the fridge from the night before.  It took 60 mins at 170 and came out very well with a crispy charred / burned coating on a few bits.   For a further 10 mins I turned the Chicken Kebab over and there is lots of juices in the foil tray if you wished to keep basting at certain intervals.

Once it's cook I let rest for five mins before serving.   The chunks you can take of the wooden skewers and then serve the Lidl Chicken kebab onto the plate.  I served the kebab with a potato salad and this was lovely. You could serve with some pita bread.

The Lidl Chicken Kebab is a great portion for two people.  Possibly three people or leave some for afters.   It's worth buying for £6 when you compare what it would cost out a takeaway.

Could you make the Lidl Chicken Kebab yourself yes.   If you got 2 basic chicken breasts from supermarket and maybe some chicken drumsticks or thighs and then your own spices you could make your own kebabs just get some skewers.

Would I buy the Lidl Chicken kebab again, possibly.  I would not go out my way to get it but I did find it tasty, easy to cook, worth the money and felt as though I'd had a tasty dinner.  The Peri Peri sauce has a nice kick to it, the chunks of chicken are all a good size, so no skimping.
